The ARA has contributed a submission to the Draft Code of Practice for Flammable Refrigerants (DCoP). We have provided comment primarily on the Foreword and Introduction of the document and recommendations for changes to the Foreword and Introduction. ARA members like Hychill have provided comment on the body of the document.
Refrigerants Australia have raised a red flag about refrigerants and the Synthetic Greenhouse Gas levy that imposes the carbon price on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) saying refrigerant substitution "puts lives at risk".
Today the Australian Senate passed a motion put by the Greens encouraging all countries to reach an agreement under the Montreal Protocol to phase down the use of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant gases.
ARA recently made a submission to the National Occupational Licensing Scheme (NOLS) Taskforce, which as part of a long-running COAG process has sought public comment on the proposed arrangments for reducing the barriers that a number of trades face in working across Australian jurisdictions. ARA takes a different approach to some other stakeholders on the fundamental issue of which is the best model for the new occupational licensing scheme.
